1. Who We Are

Vibe Translator ("we," "us," "our") operates the website and app at vibetranslator.net. This policy explains what information we collect when you use Vibe Translator (on the web or via our Android app), how we use it, who we share it with, and what choices you have.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

• Input text — whatever you type into the translation box.
• Your selections — the generations, roles, tone modifiers, output length, and other options you choose.

Information collected automatically

• IP address — collected as part of our bot-verification process (hCaptcha) and standard web server logs.
• Basic device/browser information — such as browser type and device category, collected automatically by our hosting provider (Netlify) as part of standard web traffic logs.
• Theme preference — whether you're using light or dark mode.

We do not require you to create an account, and we do not knowingly collect your name, physical address, or payment information.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To generate the translation you requested, by sending your input text and selections to our AI provider (Anthropic).
• To log and review usage so we can understand how the tool is used, fix bugs, and improve the product.
• To detect and prevent bot abuse and spam (via hCaptcha).
• To enforce reasonable usage limits that keep the service running for everyone.

We do not use your input text to train our own AI models. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Who We Share Information With

We use a small number of service providers to operate Vibe Translator. Each only receives the information necessary to perform its function:

• Anthropic (Claude API) — receives your input text and selections to generate the translation. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
• Google — we log translation activity to a Google repository for internal review, and use Google's hCaptcha service to verify you're not a bot.
• Netlify — our hosting provider, which processes standard web traffic and server logs.

We do not share your information with data brokers or advertisers, and we do not sell your data.

5. Data Retention

Logged translation activity (including input text) is retained for product improvement purposes. If you would like your data removed from our records, contact us using the email below with reasonable identifying details (such as the approximate date, time, and content of your submission), and we will honor reasonable deletion requests.

6. Children's Privacy

Vibe Translator is not intended for use by anyone under 17 years old, and by default the tool may generate unfiltered language, including profanity (see Section 9). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete it.

7. Cookies & Local Storage

Vibe Translator does not use persistent tracking cookies. On the web, a temporary session identifier is held only in your browser's memory and is cleared when you close or reload the page. On our Android app, a similar identifier may be stored locally on your device to reduce repeated bot-verification prompts; this identifier is not linked to your personal identity.

8. Your Choices & Rights

• You can use Vibe Translator without providing any personally identifying information.
• You may request access to, or deletion of, data associated with your usage by contacting us (see below). We will make reasonable efforts to comply, though because our logs are not tied to a login or account, we may need help identifying which entries are yours (e.g., approximate date/time and content).
• Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Contact us to make a request.

9. Content Disclaimer — Entertainment Purposes Only

Vibe Translator generates AI-produced text for entertainment purposes. It is not professional advice of any kind (relationship, psychological, legal, or otherwise), and outputs should not be relied upon as factual, accurate, or a substitute for genuine communication with the people in your life.

By default, Vibe Translator does not filter profanity in its generated output. Users may enable a "Keep it clean" filter to request family-friendly output, but this filter is AI-based and not guaranteed to catch every instance. This app is rated for users 17 and older.

10. Zero-Tolerance Policy — Prohibited Content & Conduct

We take a firm, zero-tolerance stance against the use of Vibe Translator to generate, request, or facilitate content that promotes harm to self, harm to others, or intolerance of any kind. This is not optional, filter-dependent, or subject to the "Keep it clean" setting — these restrictions apply at all times, regardless of any other settings.

The following are strictly prohibited on Vibe Translator, without exception:

• Violence and threats — content depicting, threatening, glorifying, or inciting violence against any person, group, or animal.
• Hate speech and hate crimes — content that attacks, demeans, or incites hatred or violence against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic. This includes racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, religious intolerance, and ableism in any form.
• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and child exploitation — any content that sexualizes, exploits, endangers, or facilitates the grooming or abuse of minors, in any form, without exception. Suspected violations will be reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and/or law enforcement as required by law.
• Self-harm and suicide promotion — content that encourages, glorifies, or provides guidance toward self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders.
• Harassment, stalking, and doxxing — content intended to harass, intimidate, stalk, or expose the private information of another person without consent.
• Terrorism and violent extremism — content that promotes, glorifies, or provides material support to terrorist or violent extremist activity or ideology.
• Non-consensual sexual content — sexually explicit content of real people generated or shared without their consent, and any sexual content involving minors, which is covered without exception under CSAM above.
• Facilitation of illegal activity — content intended to facilitate illegal weapons or drug acquisition, human trafficking, fraud, or other unlawful conduct.
• Malicious impersonation — using generated content to impersonate a real person with intent to deceive or harm.

How this is enforced: Requests that violate this policy may be automatically declined or filtered by our AI provider (Anthropic) regardless of any settings you've selected within Vibe Translator, since our service operates under and is bound by Anthropic's own Usage Policy in addition to our own. We reserve the right to deny service, block access, and terminate use of Vibe Translator — with or without notice — for any user found to be violating this policy, and to report unlawful content (including CSAM) to the appropriate authorities as required or permitted by law.

You further agree not to attempt to circumvent, "jailbreak," or otherwise bypass these protections, and not to use Vibe Translator for any unlawful purpose or to attempt to bypass our usage limits or bot protections.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability

Vibe Translator is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. AI-generated content may be inaccurate, offensive, or inappropriate in ways we do not anticipate or control.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Vibe Translator, including but not limited to interpersonal conflicts, emotional distress, or decisions made based on generated content. You use this tool at your own risk and agree not to hold us liable for outcomes resulting from sharing, sending, or acting on AI-generated translations.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Vibe Translator after changes means you accept the revised policy.
